Q: What do I do to park with Spark Parking?
A: Simply drive in and select any available space. After parking, note the space number and call our toll-free number from any telephone. Follow the automated prompts or press * to speak immediately with a friendly customer service representative. When you are finished parking, simply drive away and you will receive a text message receipt for your charge.

Q: How does a driver know what to do?
A: Spark Parking locations are well-marked with signs describing the parking and payment process. It's easier than the typical self-pay or gated parking lots with tickets and a cashier. When you call, our friendly customer service representatives can guide you through the process.

Q: What do I need to have in order to park with Spark Parking?
A: Ideally, access to a phone and a credit or debit card. Nothing else. There are no devices to stick to the car's windshield, no hangtags to dangle from the rearview mirror, no change for a meter, and no permit stickers on the rear bumper. You park, you call, you drive away...that's all there is to it.

Q: Do I need to enter my credit card number over the phone?
A: Only the first time you use a Spark Parking lot. After that, we will recognize you based on the phone number you are calling from. The next time you use any Spark Parking lot, you simply dial our toll-free number and enter your space number and an optional passcode that you have set. It's quick, easy, and private using our secure system.

Q: What if I don't call after parking?
A: Spark Parking’s system immediately detects that the parking space is occupied. You are given a short period to call Spark Parking to provide your space number. If the grace period expires before we hear from you, we will initiate enforcement ranging from written warnings to towing.

Q: What if I do not have a mobile phone or the mobile phone is not working?
A: No problem. The grace period is long enough to allow the driver to park, walk to their destination, and call from a landline. In some Spark Parking lots, a phone is available onsite for driver use.

Q: What about security?
A: Spark Parking's security personnel respond quickly on any report of trouble or when we detect an unpaid car in a parking spot or lane. Unlike enforcement personnel who patrol traditional self-pay lots on a predictable timetable, Spark Parking personnel may visit a lot at any time, in many cases several times a day.

Q: How do I know you charged me the right amount?
A: Parking rates are clearly posted at each Spark Parking lot. Also, drivers can hear an explanation of the rates when they call to claim a space. When you drive away from the space, we send you a text message or email as a receipt with an explanation of the rates and charge. If you desire, you can also access your parking transactions on the Spark Parking website.

Q: What's the catch?
A: Don't be so suspicious...there isn't one. We're drivers too, and we really hated the parking situation in most cities. As a result, we took new, reliable wireless technology to monitor parking lots from a central location and combined it with an easy pay-by-phone system. This sharply decreases the problems and cost of parking operations for parking lot owners and allows us to deliver a much better experience for drivers.
