Excellent special section in the Economist on Wireless and Sensor Networks

The Economist presents the best overview I’ve seen yet of the future of wirelessly connected devices in A world of connections.
“New wireless technologies will link not just people but lots of objects too. That will be tremendously useful… but getting there will be tricky”
It looks like the introductory article is available at the link above, but for the whole thing you’ll need to be a subscriber, or you can purchase the magazine on the newsstand.

Hi Cooper Marcus,
I am a postgraduate student in Sydney doing a marketing project about a parking payment system.
We have access to a lot of academic resources via the university of course but surveys about consumer behaviour related to car parking seem to be in short supply. Mainly knowledge of criteria rated high by people driving from suburbs to work or shop (and park) in the city would be of great value to us. Do you know if there exist such surveys that are freely available to students or can be requested through uni databases?

Hi Anne,
Sorry, I don’t know offhand of any such research. I do know that drivers typically care about proximity to destination, price, and safety or security when choosing where to park. If you find some research, please share your results with me and the other readers of this blog!
Thanks, Cooper

Thank you for your answer. I have a lot of info now, however, limited research about consumer behaviour. Survey results etc are not “spot on” but piece by piece a market profile emerges. Sources are mainly about Australia
if you are interested just ask and I can share the info.
